Greencrest Manor is undoubtedly a venue that transports you to another country. Tucked away in Battle Creek, Michigan, Greencrest Manor offers a romantic European-inspired setting right here in the Midwest. With its French château architecture, manicured gardens, and timeless elegance, it creates the perfect backdrop for couples who value intentional design and an experience that feels both intimate and elevated.
This editorial by Stephanie Abbitt Events was created to celebrate exactly that. And my vision was to illustrate what a wedding day rooted in artistry, emotion, and timeless storytelling could look like. Captured through both film and digital photography.

A Spring Editorial Inspired by Soft European Romance
The vision for this editorial, planned and designed by Stephanie Abbott Events, embraced the chic elegance that naturally exists at Greencrest Manor. ” A refined, modern, European experience.” was her goal. Rather than competing with the space, every element was chosen to complement it — soft textures, organic movement, and a refined color palette inspired by spring gardens just beginning to bloom.
The result feels understated yet elevated: a wedding aesthetic rooted in timeless design rather than trends.
Greencrest Manor lends itself beautifully to this style. Its neutral tones, historic architecture, and natural surroundings allow moments to unfold gently, creating imagery that feels editorial while remaining deeply personal.

Photographing Greencrest Manor on Film and Digital
One of the reasons I was especially drawn to photograph this editorial at Greencrest Manor is how perfectly the space complements film photography.
Film captures light differently — with softer highlights, organic tones, and a nostalgic quality that feels honest and enduring. The neutral palette of the manor, paired with natural garden light, allows film imagery to truly shine while preserving delicate details and emotion.
Digital photography, on the other hand, allows for flexibility throughout the wedding day — especially during fast-moving moments, changing lighting conditions, and celebrations as the evening unfolds.
By blending film and digital photography, couples receive the best of both worlds: a blend of timeless, heirloom quality of film, versatility and consistency of digital imagery, and a gallery that feels cohesive, emotional, and refined.
This hybrid approach ensures moments are preserved with both artistry and reliability — something I believe is essential when documenting a wedding day as meaningful as this one.

Planning a Wedding at Greencrest Manor
If you’re planning a wedding at Greencrest Manor and searching for a photographer who works with both film and digital photography, I’d love to chat with you. Choosing someone familiar with the venue’s light, flow, and atmosphere can make a meaningful difference in your final images.
Every space at the manor changes throughout the day — from soft morning light in the gardens to golden evening tones across the estate — and understanding how to photograph those transitions intentionally allows your story to unfold naturally.
